Injury: Out of IMPI 4

Injury: Out of IMPI 4

Unfortunately, I came back from my latest fight in Beijing last Saturday night with a broken jaw.
Currently in Hong Kong at Queen Mary hospital, I am waiting for surgery anytime when the surgery team is available. After surgery, I will need at least 6 weeks for the jaw to fully heal.
As a consequence, I am forced to pull out from my next scheduled fight at IMPI4 on August 20. I did not share this information earlier because since Saturday night I was still thinking of fighting and I was trying to figure out a way to do fast surgery and to recover sufficiently to be able to fight; but the final conclusion is that it will not be possible before August 20.
I would like to send my deepest apologies to Vuyisile Colossa and thank him for the great opportunity he gave me to fight on his event IMPI World Series Asia 4. I know there has been a lot of promotion for this fight and I feel extremely sorry to scrap it. It was an honour to be in the center of the official fight poster in traditional Wing Chun uniform; I was looking forward to putting on a good show in Hong Kong in front of my friends, students, and all people who support me.
I knew I was taking a risk by taking another fight so close to this fight, I accepted the risk, and the results did not come as I planned. I bear the full responsibility of this and I will learn from my mistake.

I would like to apologise to all the people who were looking forward to support me in this fight, especially those who have already bought tickets from me. Also, apologies to my scheduled opponent Matt Chan and his team, which I know and respect. I hope he can find another suitable match for now, and that we can do this fight together later.
Please keep supporting this event and the growth of MMA in Hong Kong. Good luck to all the fighters and staff. I am looking forward to watch an amazing night of quality MMA fights on Saturday 20 August at IMPI 4.
